The process measures the change in the unloaded output Voltageof a device under test to a loaded output Voltage.
The unloaded Voltageis measured from the device under test’s output when the output is not connected or not loaded. Then the output is loaded, drawing more current through the load. Then loaded output Voltage is measured. The resulting measured value is then reported as a change in the unloaded current to loaded current (Loaded Voltage- unloaded Voltage).
This test is commonly performed on DC power supplies under a 95% wattage load.
