Back in 2013 when we built version 1.0 of Metrology.NET, we used “Test Process Type” as a generic description of a test process. In 2017, working with the NCSLI 141 MII committee, we moved Test Process Types to Metrology Taxonomy with some minor changes.
The software is able to understand the defined taxonomy and its associated parameters associated with each test point and then pass that metadata to a specific measurement technique, creating an automated procedure on the fly. (Making the software a Low-Code application.)
